QfG V crash with new installer

Well, in fact I don't know if crash without the new installer.
Greetings, I'm Klint-psk, an spanish fan of the Quest for Glory series. I downloaded and played the first four games in DOSBox (except the Trial by Fire remake), and now I'm playing QfG V. I used the new installer for W7 x64, and I must to say that works pretty well.

But when I go to the Science Island the game crash. I jumped in the gondola, released the brake again, and when the gondola arrives at Science island, I heard a TERRIBLE sound and the game crashed. I tried it again, and it crashed again. I can't do anything, only press ESC to return to the desktop without a error message or something.

Any help? :3

Was this a localized version? I see that you have the game installed in you %ProgramFiles% folder with UAC on. I would suggest that you uninstall and reinstall outside of any system folder. You may be encountering some write permissions issue.

I don't really know if I'm using a EUR or USA version or not. About the folders, I will try execute the game with admin rights. If that fails, I will reinstall it. I'll post the resulsts, and thank you :3

EDIT: Well, that was awkward... when I used admin rights, the game reacted like it was never runed before (and without save games). The crash still happens. I will try to reinstall.

EDIT2: I reinstalled it and it still crash. Also, I lost ALL my savegames. I don't know where the game store the savegames files, but certainly not in the folder of the game. So I still have a bug, and no savegames... ;_;

I have some bad news and some good news.
Good news: The error seems to be caused by the executable, as seen here:

I downloaded a new Iso of QfG V, and the exact same error happened, BUT this time it gave me a error message. It isn't very clear or useful, but it's something.

Bad news: I'm a filthy pirate. Yes, I downloaded the entire series, including QfG V. It makes me feel really bad, especially after all the good moments that I passed playing this games. I have serious plans of buying the games (I always prefer to buy original games), but right now I haven't enough money. Just so you know ^^U.

I don't support abandonware. I have no way of knowing how any given game has been altered, ripped, hacked, cracked, etc. These have unpredictable results and is probably the cause.

Well... the exact same error happens with two totally unrelated rips of the disc, so I doubt that's the problem. Anyway, thanks for your time :3
