Will QFG run on Windows 7 starter?

Not finding any Glory in this whole Quest for Glory bit? Need a hint? Or just want to discuss Quest for Glory - this is the place to do it!

Will QFG run on Windows 7 starter?

Post by Chris724 »

Hey guys, first off I'm new to the forums, great to be here. I'm a huge Sierra fan, and I'm planning on buying Quest for Glory 1-5 off of GOG tomorrow since I haven't played them in years. First off, will my Windows 7 Starter laptop run these games? It runs AGD's remakes fine, and the DOS versions of 1-4 run no problem. I've never played Dragon Fire, should it work ok? Also, to anyone who has the GOG version, do I need to download any patches to make sure I have no bugs? Thanks in advance guys.

I see no reason that your laptop would not be able to handle 1-4. I would expect that you should be able to run 5, but it may not be as sure of a bet. The GOG versions should be fully patched, but I cannot say. I believe that they do at least have the NRS patches, even though a couple of them do introduce other errors. However, I think you will find the GOG versions are less than optimally configured. That said, the GOG release is a good way for those that do not have the games to acquire copies. If you already own the games, I would recommend you just use the new installers.

I own the Quest for Glory collection but the disk is scratched up. I have the GOG versions downloading now, hopefully they'll all work.
