Dean Erikson wrote: Hi!

My new success book, Act. Adapt. Achieve. is available now at www.Amazon.com in paperback and for the Kindle. You can learn more at www.actadaptachieve.com.

In the book, I reveal tools and techniques to help readers achieve their dreams and reach their greatest potential. Building upon my previous book, Choose Y
our Story, Choose Your Life, I encourage readers to live their best lives, this time by guiding them to take necessary actions to achieve their goals and by empowering them to adapt when things do not go as planned.

Because of the varied successes I've experienced as an athlete, Ivy League graduate, former Wall Street trader and working actor, novelist, and now CEO of investment advisory firm Bionic Capital, I have been able to create the innovative Idea Circle, a repeatable success process distilled from those experiences.

It is my hope that the Idea Circle, Success Worksheets, and all the information and motivation contained in Act. Adapt. Achieve. will help a number of people live better, happier, and more successfully.

Thanks!
Dean

I really like Dean. You know I do. But I wouldn't read this book - or the vast majority of self-help books out there - even for a thousand dollars.

Not going to ask why (because it's open and I linked a reply to Dean to this thread, but just went back to FB and removed it) - but this alone makes me pretty happy:

"In keeping with one of my personal goals mentioned in the book, at least 10% of net proceeds from the book's sale will go to charties supporting children and cancer research."

Well, I've no problem stating why I dislike this kind of books. With very rare exceptions, I find self-help books to be mere marketing tools to capitalize on other people's problems. I've been working in publishing for almost three years now, but especially in the last one - with the specialization course in Publishing and now my internship - I've come to realize that self-help books are usually half-thought projects, usually with no aesthetic value at all, in which the publishing house invests only to make quick cash because they are the kind of titles that even those who don't usually read may be interested in picking up just for curiosity.

Of course this is the situation in Italy, and I can't speak for Dean's books, which I haven't read. It may well be that they are thought-provoking titles that can really help other people. They are just not books I'll ever be interested in reading. With that being said, though, I wish him good luck for his book.

Yeah, I'm not one for self-help books either. I'm not sure why. I think it's because I'm too stubborn to feel like I need any help with anything. ^_^

However, I do feel they can be helpful for others who feel like they need answers. I haven't really looked in to his new book but I would assume he talks about his own issues and how he was able to overcome them. Maybe others can relate to it. I do wish him luck and it's nice to see he's donating some of his profits. :)
