Daryl Gates in "Gangster Squad"

My wife and I saw Gangster Squad over the weekend. (The movie was just okay... worth a rental at most.) One of the officers mentioned in the movie was DARYL GATES (who of course is a very famous LA cop) ... but I couldn't help but think about PQ4!

This is Daryl's famous cameo.

Pretty sure the guy behind the desk is Dayrl Gates in that screen shot.

You know, Tawmis, I was thinking that the screenshot I posted was indeed his cameo... but I now believe that it isn't. You get called into Lieutenant Block's office, not the chief. But according to Daryl Gates' Wikipedia page, he has a cameo as the Chief of Police on "one of the top floors of the Parker Center."

Looks like I missed a screenshot? Time to fire that sucker back up!

Well Daryl Gates has the same hair style and hair color as the guy behind the desk. I'd bet it's not as his real name within the game, but a character name.

Gates is not nearly that bald. His hairline may have receded some since this one, but nothing that you would call bald.

Try the other floors in the building. Sometimes there's a cue of people blocking your way, so you can't get out of the elevator and have to pick another floor. On one of the blocked floors is Chief Gates, waiting at the elevator and telling the character to go do his job.
