It looks like it may be a Slash re-release.Rudy wrote:He was also selling Manhunter 2: San Francisco. Even though the disks don't really look like Sierra's, i picked it up for only $2.5 and it can get shipped combined, so you can't really go wrong with that.

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)
Quite possible. The label on the box is also not the usual one. Oh well... now i have at least the chance to play it and it was quasi for free. Perhaps i'll get the original release later.Collector wrote: It looks like it may be a Slash re-release.
By the way, did you guys notice that somebody is selling a near complete collection of Sierra Interaction Magazines? He's selling them separately though. I'll try to go for 5 upto 10 of them, but more than that is going to be hard to achieve. Almirena, they include issues with GK1 and GK2 on the cover. The Summer 1999 edition covers GK3.
Here they are, ending in 2 days: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/coastrang ... &_osacat=0

Yes, $10. I couldn't convince the seller to give it for free unfortunately...

So you managed to snag 3-D Helicopter, too. I'm a little surprised that you didn't already have Black Cauldron. Only one other of the Disney's is an AGI. I'm not sure what engine that Goofy's Word Factory was to have been.

Everytime you post a new photo of a Sierra game that I've never heard before, it simply amazes me about how I keep underestimating how big the company really was.
...or it shows how young I was when these games came out. ^_^

Nope, Black Cauldron is my first. 1 down, 3 to go. If anybody runs into the PC version of "Mickey Mouse space Adventure", "Donald Duck's Playground" or "Winnie the Pooh and the Hundred Acre Wood", let me know, will ya ? Concerning Goofy's Word Factory, i guess we'll never know what engine it would have had, although... Al Lowe would know! Doesn't he mention anything about it on his website?Collector wrote:So you managed to snag 3-D Helicopter, too. I'm a little surprised that you didn't already have Black Cauldron. Jules: yes, you'd be surprised what they all released, especially during the first half of the 80ies. This box of Sierra 3-D Helicopter Simulator, is actually a rerelease. I also still discover releases which i never even heard of before. It happens rarely, but it does.

Take it from this old man - some of the recent ones posted are actually older (as in newer) Sierra games - and probably not in your realm of interest - so when they got released ye didn't even look that way!Jules wrote:Everytime you post a new photo of a Sierra game that I've never heard before, it simply amazes me about how I keep underestimating how big the company really was.

Now that you mention it, I believe that Al Lowe was involved with its development.Rudy wrote:Concerning Goofy's Word Factory, i guess we'll never know what engine it would have had, although... Al Lowe would know! Doesn't he mention anything about it on his website?

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)
Al was involved for sure! He was the main designer for each Disney title under Sierra and, if i'm not mistaking, he was the main guy for Disney software in general, back in the 80ies of course, when their software department was still tiny.

I believe that Goofy's was the title that was in development when Disney and Sierra had their falling out.

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)
That's indeed why it never got released, unfortunately. It was supposed to hit the shelves in late 1986 - early 1987, but didn't make it.Collector wrote:I believe that Goofy's was the title that was in development when Disney and Sierra had their falling out.
Picked up another one for only 1.5 Euros . Already have it, but the box was missing, so now it's complete again.
