Problem with Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom

Post by Bill »

I recently tried to play Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom. I tried to install it on my relatively new ASUS Windows 7 computer, but the disc wouldn't autorun. Instead, I got an error message reading called "autorun.exe - Application Error" reading, "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000006). Click OK to close the application." Upon clicking OK, the message closes for an instant and reappears. Upon the second click, the message closes and does not reappear. Does anyone know what the cause of this error is and how it can be fixed? It may be important to note that I live in the US and have a US computer, but I have the UK version of the game. I was able to play this game on my old US Windows XP computer, though. I am able to play Caesar, Pharaoh, Zeus, etc.

Hello. I am sorry, but I do not have this game, so I do not have a new installer for it, as well as anything I could suggest would just be a shot in the dark. You mentioned problems with the Autorun.exe. Did you try to bypass it and try to start the installer directly?

Open the CD in My Computer and look for a file named something like Setup.exe.
