No, but you're in the right game...

Yeah it was fruitful, I found both lines you specified. But I always get the French Revolution conversation whether I overhear the dining room scene or not. I also found that the problem with playing the BIK files is not in the files, but in the game: it even wouldn't play the 3-10AM wake up vid if I had deleted it from the data folder and played with CD-Rom.

Superb! Well like I said, it wasn't so much the overhearing that blocked the refreshment-revolution, it was the going over to the table and the smalltalk at that point that made it impossible.

Just checked: on the US edition it's the small talk in the dining room that blocks the discussion. I never had that issue with my EU edition, oddly.
