Anyone played "The Vanishing of Ethan Carter"?
Anyone played "The Vanishing of Ethan Carter"?
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, an adventure-esque game made by The Astronauts, recently released on Steam and GOG.com. Given that there was a bit of a debate which spawned after I posted the thoughts of the company head, who also designed The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, on old-school adventure games, I was wondering if anyone here has played the released product. From what I've read, it's a modernized, old-school adventure game - as contradictory as that sounds. For example, while objects and where they go are pointed out to you, they don't stand out like a beacon (i.e. they're no "X marks the spot" on a map, a blazing arrow, or a giant glowing light you can see from anywhere), so you'll still have to riddle out where to go to place/use the object based on the object's function and the clues you've found scattered throughout the world.

So that's where I remember hearing the name of the game from.
I haven't played it.
