Only Three Games

Post by AndreaDraco »

I was reading some of the older threads here on the SHP, particularly the ones concerning our favorite games within a given series... So, I decided to raise the bar. We can choose only three games out of all Sierra's production and, to make things even more difficult, we can't say more than one game per series (believe me, it's very difficult for me too; otherwise, I'd have chosen GK1, GK2, GK3 :D )

I'll start:

Gabriel Knight II: The Beast Within

King's Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow!

Conquests of the Longbow

(Quest for Glory II is really, really close, and - from time to time - it even surpasses Longbow... Argh!)

Leisure Suit Larry II: Loving For Love In Several Wrong Places

King's Quest IV: Perils of Rosella

Gabriel Knight 1: Sins of the Father

(Torin's Passage would have probably slid in there too... but got bumped...)

This is hard. 1 and 2 for me are easy picks, but recently, my no. 3 pick has gotten some heavy competition from three other games. Ah, heck with it - I'll just keep my list the way it is for now.

1. King's Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow

2. Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father

3. Space Quest V: The Next Mutation

Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness
Police Quest III: The Kindred
Leisure Suit Larry 7: Love for Sail

This is incredibly difficult for me...

I must narrow it down, though, to these:

1. King's Quest 6 - in my opinion the best adventure game ever created
2. Quest for Glory 4 - in my opinion the best QfG game, with a delicious atmosphere, wonderful voice acting, and very character-driven plot
3. Gabriel Knight 2 - it has an opera in it, for goodness' sake! If for nothing else, that would bring it to the top three, but of course it also has a remarkable storyline, some very beautiful graphics and a finale that can only be beaten by other Jane Jensen finales.

By forcing me to limit my choices, you do realise I can't select a Space Quest game, don't you? Aaaagh.

The first two are easy for me,

1. King's Quest VI
2. Quest for Glory IV

The third becomes much harder for me to name, but would have to be a tossup between Gabriel Knight 1 and 2.

Yes, I realize! That's the evilness of the game!

Aside from Tawmis, until now, we all save King's Quest VI! ;)

I'm imagining having only 3 games here, so i'm mostly going for replayability. Don't shoot me please :| . Aim for Andrea, cause he made us pick only 3 .

1) Evil Genius
2) Gabriel Knight 2 (best adventure game EVER!)
3) F.E.A.R.

:D

Not intentional at all, trust me.

I've had a TON of things going on with school, band, job, etc., so I've slowed down a lot on the Internet. Hopefully I'll be able to be around more often now.

Given the criteria we have to adhere to, these are not truly my three favourite Sierra games.

Of course, sometimes my favourite depends on my mood. My mood is kind of Gothic lately, so I'm going to say:

1. The Beast Within (Werewolves, castles, tragedy, mystery, do I need to say more?)
2. Shadows of Darkness (Werewolves, castles, tragedy...(do we see a theme here?) and vampires.)
3. The Colonel's Bequest (Werewolves, er...wait. 1920s, mansion, mystery, 1920s. I really like the 1920s.)

Those could change next week or tomorrow. ;)

These are very difficult choices.

Space Quest IV

King's Quest IV

Gold Rush

Just like people have said in previous posts that these choices could change on any given week, its the same for me. For right now though I feel those are solid choices.
