Yes! I finished playing King's Quest II ... but have not spliced and uploaded it yet. (And it might be on hold for a bit, because I am doing that Camp NaNoWriMo thing (link leads to the story thing I am doing - nothing there other than a preview, which is pretty much the prelude to the story).

But yeah, had a lot of fun replaying the games - trying to remember where things are. King's Quest I was pretty difficult (even to replay!), because I forgot where a lot of things were. King's Quest II, for some reason, seemed even more difficult. (I was pretty sure there was a Red Riding Hood - but I couldn't find her - and I thought she just walked around Grandmother's house - but it turns out her appearance is random... so that was throwing me off... Things like that...)

The toroidal topology of KQ1 makes it really easy to get lost. Every screen is either simultaneously north and south or simultaneously east and west (or both) of every other screen. KQ2 only loops on one axis, so there you can at least get the feeling of whether you're in the west or in the east.

That is true - although, sometimes it's nice in KQI - when you're on one side, not have to walk six screens left, when you can just walk two screens to the right and be at the same screen as if you had walked six screens left.

But having it more "boxed" like King's Quest II, did make it feel more like a "world."

I am not looking forward to King's Quest III. I kid you not that damn Mahanananananana wizard is the bane of all the Sierra games I have ever played.

I finished King's Quest 3; need to splice it up. Also need to dub the recording over the KQ2 game for the commentary.

And resume doing this - especially since KQ4 is next to play (probably my favorite of the KQ series!)

Don't forget to use the Amiga sound installer for KQ4 and be sure to record the sound.

Does KQ4 support MUNT? Wouldn't that be the better route to go?

You don't remember the 'ultimate KQ4' installer? You get the best graphics of all the versions, the Amiga environmental sounds AND Munt!

Tawnis, you don't sound the way I expected. I half expected to watch the playthroughs with you saying "aye matey, ye be playin' King's quest!" :D

Collector, I'm probably just missing it, but where can I get the kq4 ultimate installer?

Wow! That's amazing. I remember birds chirping when I played (don't remember it being that good, and certainly not the music being that good...)

Is that ultimate Installer on here somewhere? I have finished KQII and KQIII and next would be KQIV... so I figure, I may give it a swing...

I ask because the above link leads to another thread with another link that leads to...

If you are talking about the link in the NRS quote, that one lead to the Quest Studios forum. The link to the installer is in the first post in that tread.
