The Beast Within: A DOSBox Installer

Post by Collector »

I have made an initial release of a Beast Within: A Gabriel Knight Mystery installer. It uses Enrico Rolfi's UniSCI tool to concatenating the resources from all 6 CDs for CD-less play. It includes his No Interlace patch and will give the option to install laffer35's English subtitle patch. Future versions may allow for burning to DVD for minimal install options.

It's not working for me. After I install it and start the game all I get is the choice of a restore or quiting. Nothing about play or the prologue. There is no sound either. I tried reinstalling but same thing. I also tried to install on another computer but the same thing happens. Maybe some of the files are not copying but my cd's are in very nice condition without any scratches so I don't think that is it.

I'm not sure why it didn't apply the patch, but unzip this into the game's folder

I've been thinking about replaying GK2, since I haven't played it for a while. This is great timing, since I'm sure that will make it easier. Awesome!
