Hmmm... this is strange. It looks like it ought to be the night-gaunts from QfG1, except that they never make an appearance (except as a "You die" message).

Altogether, it seems to be a little too dark to make out what's going on. Perhaps a clue?

Hmm... that doesn't give me much to go on, I'm afraid. :-\ I presume those are trees in the background? Hmm... perhaps QfG5? Though to be honest, they don't look much like the trees in QfG5.

They are trees, I can confirm. They are in a dark place, but it could have been much darker, for it is not evil now.

Ah! *insert light-bulb moment here* Is it, by any chance, Katrina's island in QfG5?

By the way, I'm not sure I understand the ending of QfG4 and its implications on QfG5. The end of QfG4 implies that Katrina is pulled into the dimension where the Dark One dwells, trapped there much like Erana previously, and will continue to exist there along with Avoozl for eternity. QfG5, on the other hand, says she was killed and went to Hades, from which the hero can rescue her.

So I'm guessing that Katrina was killed by her exposure to Avoozl? That would make sense, at least. But then, how is it that Erana survived for so long, but Katrina didn't? As magic-users, they strike me as fairly equivalent in power.

Well, from how I understand it, Erana AND the Dark One were trapped between worlds (hence the cave shape and Erana's Crystal). When you finish the ritual you unleash the Dark One back to his realm and free Erana back to your realm. However, the Dark One took Katrina with him resulting in her death. Erana died in returning to your world as well. So Katrina and Erana are likely comparable in power.

Hmmm... maybe that's something we shouldn't think about too much. After all, the Dark One's realm qualifies as Nightmare Fuel.

By the way, haven't seen Spikey around here recently - so I'm still not sure if my answer is right or not. But I'm guessing that I'm right. *crosses fingers*
