Gourd of the Beans: An Unplanned Adventure Released!

Post by The Jolly Roger »

Ahoy!!!

My brothers finished their old school style adventure game in state-of-the-art (circa 1985) AGI graphical interface! It is currently free using the NAGI engine (for a limited time?) from our website: http://jollyrogercrew.com/
We hope you enjoy the classic battle of figuring out what to type and where. Hopefully some of the nostalgic frustrations can come flashing back...

In addition, if you enjoy the game and want more like it, our kickstarter went live last Friday: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/66 ... rise-again. It includes a modernized Unity Engine for future AGI game developers as well as part 2 of the series: Dys-fellowship of the Bean.

Please post questions, concerns, or other comments related to this game on this thread... Thanks and enjoy!

Klownstein is one of my brothers, the one with the graphic design knack, and he started the whole mess. Alan took over the programming as he finished school, and has since been the chief programmer, with klownstein's art supporting anything the two of them can dream up. ;)

I guess the Wiki page needs to be updated.

Indeed it does.

His AGI Combat interpreter is pretty neat. He was pretty much the sole developer of that one.

I can update the wiki page if you'd like, or just message me and I'll pass you the pertinent information. You can set it as Completed. The version there is the Demo... the Full game is available on www.jollyrogercrew.com. ;)

Did you want a Wiki account to do it?

Yeah, I just grabbed screens from the site rather than to make new ones.

Last three days on the Kickstarter campaign. It looks like it won't be successful. But that means our little band will re-think and revise the scope of our vision. We are planning on sending out some exclusive Gourd of the Beans: an unplanned adventure digital giveaways to anyone who backed us.

If you want more info, please PM me.

Thanks for all the support, especially to Tawmis and Collector!

Sorry about the Kickstarter. :( Unfortunately, making a Kickstarter mean you're going to have to be willing to whore yourself out to the point of nearly spamming. You need to "hire" a crew of folks to tackle social media at every angle (Facebook pages, Twitter, forums, etc!) - in the event you plan another Kickstarter in the future. I would have been glad to help whore you guys out (just these last few months have been insane at work with lay offs, left and right).

As for thanking me, I wish I could have done more. Really, Collector is the one who does everything so kick arse around here, as evidenced in this thread.
