Found this free game the other day. But there's a glitch when saving game first screen after going through the forest maze. where you meet character that warns about the dark walker east of here.
if you leave game and try to restore later kicks you out of game.

Actually kind of stuck at this point to never really liked timing puzzles any hints how to get past dark walker.

Yep, I just confirmed the bug. Yikes, that is a terrible bug! Due to limitations in the AGI engine, it was necessary to patch that whole sequence together, and it clearly had very detrimental effects on saving the game in that screen. :(

I'll pass it along and see if we can get it fixed here soon.

If you save from the first screen with the dark walkers that should fix the problem with the save game. Have Sam at the top of the screen on the right side and Frobo on the bottom of the screen on the right side and save once you get to the next screen. The first time going through wait for the walker to start moving away from your character. Then move that character to the next "safe spot." Save once you are at a new safe spot and you shouldn't have much difficulty getting through. The safe spot will be almost any bush/tree that is between your character and the road/Walker.

On the second Walker screen, Sam can enter the brush near the top of the screen and practically "walk" all the way to the end of that one without timing it.

If you absolutely hate the evasion sequence, use the Debug mode (if you remember it from the old AGI games) teleport to 110, and that will get you past the Stealth portion of the game.

Hopefully, you've enjoyed the game so far! If you need more help let me know. :)

Yes thanks the debug mode helped me. but now i'm stuck on a couple other timing puzzles only 10 seconds to give the butcher the punch card and get out or i freeze to death. And trying to catch the rat using the cheese hooked to the pole.

So far good game except for timing puzzles.

I have not played this yet, but can you do the old trick of typing out the command before hand, then go to the butcher and hit F3 to repeat what you typed before?

Since I have not yet played it I'll let The Jolly Roger suggest something.

Sorry I wasn't able to respond sooner. :( A new installer is available with a "fixed" version of the game that allows a correct save from that Dark Woods Screen. :) Your save games are transferable by moving or copying the .sg files to the new game directory. The corrupted save game will still be useless however.

Regarding the Freezer... Set to "slow" and use the diagonal keys. I can usually make it back out with a single second left, you just need the command "give card" readied and hit enter once you get around the table. You don't have to be very far behind the table to get it to him. Then high tail it outta there (very sloooowwlly).

Regarding the fishing, build up your power but hitting the keys in the right order, speed is not AS important as accuracy. You can be going pretty reasonably slow on hitting the keys and still get to full power IF you get the order right continuously. The faster you go the faster you'll build the power, but your goal is to hit the rat or get it in his path, so you may not need hardly any power. So...Once you go down the stairs fish from the foot of the stairs so the rat doesn't get spooked. Charge full and then stop charging, you'll have time to wait for a good direction with a good amount of power and then hit "e." It can take expert practice or practice mixed with luck to catch that rat! I just went and tried it again, I missed a bunch of times before the rat got the cheese. Good luck. ;)

I hope that helps. Hopefully the rest of it has been enjoyable!

finally solved the freezer. But still can't get the rat. It says jumps for the cheese. As you start to reel the cheese in the rat realizes it's a trick. It immediately detaches and disappears into its hole.

Hmm, this one of the challenges, how do you get the rat stuck on the cheese? If you are still stumped tomorrow evening I'll give it as a spoiler. Happy hunting!
