You can't emulate a 3dfx card using these specs, change the graphics mode to DirectDraw from Glide.

I tried that too. No I took care of it. Uninstalled the stupid game from the computer. It's not a real King's Quest anyways, it's no wonder Sierra shut down, shortly after it's release. They should have stopped the series with number 6, but no, they just had to do 2 more of them that sucked big time! Just like the new King's Quest. I wouldn't pay a penny for it, it looks stupid, and has nothing to do with the original series, besides borrowing the title and using some of the names. Mask of Eternity is a game that is total garbage, just like, the Princeless Bride!!!

Well, I am going to disagree about King's Quest VII.

While I didn't like that it essentially felt like a "side scroller" - I thought the animation was beautiful, and it was at least an entertaining story. Falls away from the other KQ games; but at least it has redeeming values (beautiful Disney like graphics, it actually connects to King's Quest, was entertaining). As opposed to "Mask of Eternity" - which I agree, was not good in any shape or form. The graphics are horrid. The voice acting of Conner is horrible. It plays horrible.

I just had a friend put Windows XP on a laptop for me, and of course, this "F"ing game doesn't work! This game is utter SH**! Any help would be appreciated.

Is this a GOG version of the game? Using a SHP installer?

Patches? No. But when it installed, it missed some of the files from the CD. It's not the GOG version either.

If it missed files from the CD, that may be the issue.

Have you considered ripping the CD into an .ISO file - and then either using that - or burning that to a new CD and see if it works?
