SQ5 cutting torch

Playing the boxed Space Quest Collection, got up to SQ5, and I am running into an issue where the cutting torch doesnt show up in my inventory by the time I have to use it to cut into the hull of the Goliath. I even DL'd the save game zip from SHP and those also dont have the cutting torch, there seems to be a bug in the game where items vanish from the inventory, has anyone else seen this?

I don't think I've ever run into that before?

Especially if you downloaded a save game that has it? Did you download the save game - load it - verify it was there? Then later it was just suddenly gone?

The inventory is stored in the save games, so using a downloaded save game may or may not have a certain inventory item. Just to eliminate the obvious, you did try to scroll the inventory window, didn't you?

Also, you say boxed Space Quest Collection. There were several and the VU 2006 SQ Collection is highly flawed, misconfigured, missing files and an outdated (even at the time) version of DOSBox.

Also, just to make sure: did you check in the toolbox?
