QFG3 Help!!
I went through the initiation and got the drum from the laibon. Now I have to give him the bride price, but when I got back from Tarna with the loot, he won't see me. I have basically sat outside the hut resting 60 minutes at a time and trying to go in, but the guard never allows me in!! Is this a bug? What times is he supposed to be available?

Did you apply the NRS patch?

I didn't when I started, but I have since. I also lowered my cycles from 10000 to 5000. Neither have done the trick yet. I've tried running around the jungle killing monsters and then coming back to the village and that hasn't done the trick yet either.

Re: QFG3 Help!!
I would think I've somehow broken the game by buying all the stuff for the bride price before the laibon tells you what to buy, but I've read walkthroughs that just tell you to buy all the stuff at the beginning anyway. I'm wondering if there's some triggering event or dialogue I've missed.

NewRisingSun says that you should start the game over after applying the patch. It is common for patches to not work with saved games. Whatever errors that the patches fix that occurred before the patch was applied are in the saved game.

Re: QFG3 Help!!
Arg, I really don't want to play the whole game over again. The idea of doing spear practice another 100 times isn't so appealing. I do have a save game back at the giant tree, before I got the dispel potion or did the initiation. Maybe I'll try that one.
Is it just me or is the QFG series by far the buggiest of the classic Sierra "quest" series? I have memories of at least moderate bug issues with every single installment. I wonder if the need for the RPG-style stats and combat made the games run farther behind schedule than their more basic Space/Police/Kings Quest equivalents, so they had to be rushed out the door without sufficient QA. I also wonder if this was one of the reasons they decided not to re-release QFG as part of that collection series they put out a couple of years ago.

Re: QFG3 Help!!
QfG was a much more complicated series to program. The more complicated the software, the more chances for bugs.
