Gold Rush screen shot game! Come strike gold!

Post by Tawmis »

Gold Rush is another game, that had a lot of great screens... the problem is, with three ways to get to where you need to go, unless you did all three, you may not be familiar with some screens!

But here we go...

Any takers? Considering the size of the game, there's a lot of potential for this screen shot game! :)

I've never played through the game, so I can't really guess. I could easily look through screenshots to find a match, but there's no challenge in that.

Well, it'd be more than anyone else has done for this one!

Okay, then, it's this one, which I'm guessing is in Panama.

Of course, the other problem is that if it's my turn and I post a screenshot, I also wouldn't know the context of that one.

That is correct!

As for not knowing the context, that's why I usually post a screen shot with my guess (to confirm it).

This is why, I personally, don't mind using helpful sites. Originally when we were doing the "one thread, all sierra games" I was googling "GK1 screenshots" or something, rather than going through the game. Then IM myself on here the full screen shot for the reveal when guessed. :)

So even using a site, to hunt and peck screenshots is fine to me.

I've decided that I'll first try to guess, based only my own knowledge. If I don't know something and it goes unsolved for quite a while, I can still look up the screenshots. If I immediately went to screenshots, though, I think I'd be able to solve about everything instantly.

Anyways, here's the new screenshot:

I do try to guess first - without looking, as you said. But it's still a matter of finding the screenshot that matches - because we're only doing portions of the screen. So you still have to compare the posted bit to every screen shot you're looking at - so it becomes less of a memory game, and more of a puzzle game. I say as long as everyone involved is having fun, it's fine! Because there's no way I'd have games saved in all of these places to use actual screenshots from. :)

As for the screenshot - is it one of the travel screens across the US?

(I can't tell if it's that or a tree of some kind!)

Pretty sure that's the campground (going over land) - overlooking the field?
