Windows Vista
Re: Windows Vista
I have no idea how to do that, Collector.
Re: Windows Vista
make a folder on your harddrive and open the CD with Windows Explorer. Drag the contents of the disc to the folder that you made.

Re: Windows Vista
Well, I did what you suggested Collector, to no effect.
Re: Windows Vista
Were you able to copy all without issue?

Re: Windows Vista
It says: "Some resource files haven't bee copied. Please run the installer from the disc."
Re: Windows Vista
And you opened the CD in "My Computer", selected all and dragged and dropped all into a folder on your harddrive?

Re: Windows Vista
Yes. As far as I can tell, I've done everything properly. Maybe I should do the same with discs 2 and 3?
Re: Windows Vista
Copying them was not a fix as much as a test to see if all of the files are readable. If you were not able to copy all of the files on the disc, the disc is damaged. You might try a disc restore kit, but if that doesn't help you may need to replace the discs.

Re: Windows Vista
Ok, new problem. I got all the files properly copied and the game starts up, but then I get a new message saying "The following resource paths are invalid: ." (period). What does this mean?
Re: Windows Vista
The game still needs to be installed. If you had some difficulty copying the files, that might be what is giving the installer problems. If you were able to eventually copy the files over, you might try to burn a new disc from them and install from the new CD.Collector wrote:Copying them was not a fix as much as a test to see if all of the files are readable.

Re: Windows Vista
It already is installed. I did all this after it was installed.
Re: Windows Vista
Uninstall and try making a CD from the copied files, then reinstall from the new CD.

Re: Windows Vista
I'm still getting the error message.

Re: Windows Vista
Maybe your CD is damaged? GK3 runs fine on my Vista 64 machine.
Re: Windows Vista
Problem solved. I turned off compatibility mode and now it runs fine. As to the original problem of the invalid Win32 problem, I copied the .exe from the CD and pasted it over the one that installed. Thanx, Collector, for all your help. You da man.
