air elemental rope or levitate way doesn't work

Is there a glitch on the Gog version of Quest for glory 2 ? When using rope as a thief or Levitate as a wizard to drop dirt in the air elemental it will always stay far away from you. Can only solve it using the fighter way by forcing in to it or throwing dirt into it.

the thief or wizard way worked before on older versions like Quest for Glory anthology or the very old 3.5 disk way .
But not on Gog Version please help ?

From what I know, there are two parts to this puzzle - getting the air elemental to stay still, and then using the bellows on it. Here are some spoilers - feel free to read as much as you like:

You don't need to levitate or use the rope to drop the dirt inside the elemental. You DO need to levitate or use the rope in order to get the bellows from Issur's shop.

As for getting the dirt inside the elemental... you need to throw it in. Alternatively, if your throwing skill isn't too good, you can sometimes bull-rush the elemental and drop the dirt into it.

Throwing the dirt in from above is a legitimate approach; it requires less throwing skill to pull off than trying to throw it from the side.

Fair enough. *shrug* I've just never done it that way, that's all. That's why I prefaced my post with "From what I know", so that my post doesn't come across as "the gospel truth" - because then I'd look like an idiot.

Thanks all but i got it to work by waiting until the next day 9 still strange though earlier versions worked on day 8.
