I've been going through my DOS titles and updating the sound configuration to use general MIDI whenever possible. When I came across PQ4, I get no music when I set soundDrv to GENMIDI.DRV. I can hear the voices though. The MT-32 driver works just fine. I've tried two different versions of DOSBox. I found this so I guess it is a known issue:

I was wondering if there is a solution. I am using the original PQ Collection Series CD-ROM and VirtualMIDISynth for MIDI playback.

Re: PQ4 General MIDI in DOSBox
It seems that the driver from the floppy version of PQ4 works with the CD version and does not have the same issue. Can someone send me a copy of GENMIDI.DRV from the PQ4 floppy? Thanks.
Re: PQ4 General MIDI in DOSBox
Let me know if it works.
