Hoyle Classic Card Games (v2.0)

Post by Semi-Happy Partygoer »

I've been looking high and low for this title and finally found a PC version listed on eBay. Just wanted to check in advance if anyone here has a copy (v2.0) in case any of the disks don't work upon arrival (the description says they do, but still). Naturally I will post proof of ownership once I get them, should I encounter problems.

The disc info reads:

MS-DOS/WIN 3.1
VER # 2.0
INT # 7.16.93

Is this the same one listed second under "Versions" at http://sciwiki.sierrahelp.com//index.ph ... Card_Games, or do the two missing zeros signify a difference?

Probably not. I got the full number from the version file.

Unfortunately, I just got word from the seller that they've lost the disks, so I won't be getting the game after all right now. My search continues. Thank you anyway for your help.

Too bad. It took me a while to land a copy. I had a Mac version and then thought that I had found a DOS version, but when it arrived it was yet another Mac version. I finally tracked down the DOS.

I've noticed the Mac version is far more prevalent than DOS. Sierra must've shipped more copies of the Mac release, I suppose. In any event, I'll continue to keep a lookout for the DOS version. The seller who lost them promised to contact me should the disks eventually turn up.

Glad to have found it at last. I've attempted to read the disks but seem to be having some trouble - not sure if it's with the drive or the disks. Is this the version you have?

Okay, I think the issue is with my drive. It's one of those USB ones and it's never been very reliable. But it's the only means of reading floppies I currently have, so I don't have another way to check if the disks still work. Do you perchance have disk images of your copy?
