...and in particular, the "Oh! What a Weekend" segments.
Hope you've all having better weekends than I am. Yesterday (Saturday here) was a cold morning, so I put my mobile phone in the pocket of a cardigan. While crossing the road, I involuntarily sneezed. Nothing wrong with that, except that - naturally - my eyes shut, I couldn't see that I was nearly done crossing, and so I stumbled on the footpath and my phone fell out. The screen is now cracked, smashed, and broken, and it will cost $150 to fix. Still, getting a new phone would cost at least twice as much... so.
This morning, I put on the washing machine - but I forgot that one of my shirts had my train ticket and a packet of mints in the pocket. Naturally, both of them are now ruined.
I would ask what else could go wrong this weekend, but I think I've had enough bad luck! Hope you've all having better weekends than I am.

Re: Why am I suddenly reminded of Jones in the Fast Lane...
I have only ever broken my phone screen (or my phone) once since getting a Smart Phone... I was at "Free Comic Book Day" where I was one of the table folks - some guy pulled up in an actual Bat-mobile. I pulled out my phone - and it slipped right through my fingers - hit the concrete right on the corner... looked like Spider-Man shot a web-load on my phone. Of course, how I ended up finally caving into getting a smart phone (I was rebellious and refused!) is that I had my flip phone in my pocket and was at a dog beach with Odin and dove in the water... so...Rath Darkblade wrote:...and in particular, the "Oh! As for the mint and the train ticket - do your clothes at least smell minty fresh?

Thanks, Tawm. Nope, my clothes just smell of fresh detergent.
And yes, the screen on my phone now looks like a crazy Spiderman-web. It'll take another week and a half for a replacement screen to be shipped and fitted (darn it!)
I remember flip phones! Sorry to hear that yours ended up in the water. Hey, maybe now a shark can call you.
