King's Quest 7 - how to delete saved games?
Where are the saved games and how do I delete them? The save system in KQ7 is idiotic. I want to be able to reuse old save names instead of calling each game: Emu, Emu1, Emu2... Emu10000000... ("Emu" is another of my nicknames: EM stands for Eve Madeleine, and U... doesn't matter, I'm not giving you my full official data. ) I'd prefer to just delete the save after each time. I agree that the system is pretty terrible. I'm not one of those who thinks games must have multiple manual save slots (though I do see the value of those), but the way KQ7 manages its single slot is just confusing and unappealing.
You can manually delete all the save games by going to wherever you installed the game and deleting all the KQ7CDSG files. There should be one file with a number as extension for each save game, plus a single KQ7CDSG.CAT.
