Problem with full screen

Post by BDaught »

Hello. Just came across this site and love it. Been playing Sierra games since I was probably about 8 (20 years! lol). Anyways I've been having trouble with the VGA version of games (not just QFG) in DOSBox. QFG 4, GK and a couple others have been giving me this problem. I'm running Vista32. Whenever the games transition between screens it's really slow. When I alt+enter to a windowed screen it's fine. I've tried speeding up and slowing down cycles and nothing seems to work. Playing in the window is fine but it kind of takes away from nostalgic feel of playing them in DOS. If there's anything that can be done please lmk. Thanks.

Welcome to the forums. Try a different output method in your dosbox.conf file.

Thanks I'll give it a try.

Edit: Looked in the DOSBox.confs and didn't see anything about output method. I'm using your installers.

Under the SDL section add output= with one of the following. overlay, opengl, openglnb, ddraw or surface. The default it uses without being specified is surface.
