A-10 II silent thunder under vista unexpected error

I have the Aces collection and used the installer for that - before i could not get the regular installer to work using an archcived iso image so thought it might be unrecognized. The Aces cd does install with the aces installer but when i run the game with admin and compatibility for win 95 with 256 colors, 640x480, and disable visual themes and select training and click ok for flying i get an unexpected error has occured. If i instead hit the fly now buttoni get The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142) and for the problem details :

Has anyone been able to solve this error? In the mean time I have successfully ran a10-2 under virtualbox win95 no errors yet but there could be a solution to run on modern pc in compatibility mode still?

Have you tried running it in Compatibility Mode? (Is there even a Win95 Compat Mode, for that matter)?

Hi Tawmis, yes there is a win95 compatability mode in vista. So the problem with virtualbox is there are no guest additions for win95 so no joystic or mouse support in game- not a good solution. Have you been able to get it to work in vista?

I don't have A10 II... I only have the first one, myself.
