The developer of Win3mu will soon release his source to OpenSource.

Ooh! SkiFree and Chips Challenge!

Actually, I look forward to seeing if this is a more convenient way to run my old KNP games.

Oh! I am curious if this would make Johnny Castaway functional?

I mean there's a way to get it to run on modern machines but it's a bit lengthy and complicated.

Nice. How does it run Indy's Desktop Adventures? Full MIDI and sound support? How about the Sierra Windows versions?

I doubt it, at least not without modification of the code. Besides, he says it does not work with most win16 apps, but does for a number of Win16 games. But then it is a WIP and has not released any binaries. The main hope for even just games is if others pick up where he left off. We shall see after his source is released.

VOGONS might be a good place to look for possible new Win3mu devs. There are other projects for Win16 games, such as Boxedwine, based on Wine, but Win3mu seems like a far more elegant solution, at least for Windows users. Boxedwine is being developed by danoon, who created the old jDOSBox, DOSBox ported to Java. I doubt that he would pickup on Win3mu given the overlap of the projects and the fact the Win3mu would not be portable.
