I read somewhere that in the books, the Black Cauldron had other powers, but the Cauldron-Born curse ruined it. Now that the curse is lifted, the witches would probably want it back.

I don't remember that from the books, but it has been a very long time. Even if that were the case, that was not made clear in the game. I don't know about the movie.

Just finished up a pair of playthroughs using a walkthrough. One with getting Hen Wen to safety and another with her getting captured. My impressions remain the same. It is a solid AGI game that avoids a lot of the pitfalls of games of that era (dead ends, "word searching") and the multiple solutions to puzzles does give it good replay value. The only thing that confounded me were the hidden path puzzles. After that, it was a really enjoyable game. On to the next adventure!

I did enjoy the game! Short, but very enjoyable.
