Mage's Initiation now has a Coming Soon page on GOG. Go now and wishlist it if you're one of those anti-Steam/anti-DRM fellows. :)

Um, what's the problem with Steam and DRM? :? I haven't followed it recently, so I don't know.

There's those of us (say, like myself) who much prefer to get a game on GoG rather than Steam, if I have a choice.
Pretty sure he's referencing your question about GoG previously where we began to compare differences between Steam and GoG.

I wasn't referencing it specifically, no. But some people in general just dislike Steam and prefer GOG, like Tawm. That's the only reason I said it. But yeah, we did have that whole thread about just those differences...

Dislike is a strong word.
I just don't like that I need to log into Steam to typically play my games.
What I enjoy is getting the installers - then throwing them on my USB key or my personal laptop and just play anywhere - whether or not I have an internet connection.
Because I know you can play Steam offline but you still need to have Steam installed and log into Steam to play it.
But I do have a Steam account with a few games.
A few games only come out on Steam and not GoG (so, like "Two Points Hospital" - a game I bought for my wife, who loved Theme Hospital) - Steam was the only option.

Sorry, didn't mean to have it come off quite so strongly lol. I kind of just meant that some people dislike Steam and, like you, prefer GOG. Not necessarily that you yourself "dislike" Steam.

Just a note as this has been brought up by a couple people, the GOG version, while DRM-free, is not free of the restraints of requiring GOG Galaxy, since it ties into the GOG achievement system. If you don't have Galaxy installed the game will fail to start. If you want a "true DRM-free" version, get the version from the Humble store (which also gets you a Steam key as a bonus, so win/win).

Actually, not quite right. This is from Chris Warren responding to someone who crashed out on the GOG build:
You shouldn't need to have Galaxy installed to play the GOG version of the game. Just the Galaxy.dll and agsgalaxy.dll files need to be in the game folder when you launch it. As long as they're there, then the game should work without any issues.

It sounds like the files are corrupt. Re-downloading them should probably fix it.
So Galaxy is not required.
