The Rescue of Roger Wilco

In Space No One Can Hear You Clean, er, Scream. But if you post in this forum about Space Quest - someone's sure to hear you. I think. Try it, anyway!

This is very well done. Given the AGI look of the video, one thing I'd like to see is the music "downgraded" to Tandy 3-voice.

The part of one of the Two Guys spinning on the floor when the boss is shooting makes me giggle quite a bit...

I liked the "newspaper" in the beginning. Here is what it says:

"THE DAILY XENON

ROGER WILCO IMPRISONED

ACTIVISION EMPIRE CLAIMS OWNERSHIP OF WILCO

Protestors are demanding the release of Xenons (sic) most famous janitor, Roger Wilco. The two guys from Andromeda have failed to license Roger out of his prison. CEO of Activision says, "If anyone tries to rescue Roger Wilco, I will personally shoot them in the face until they have no face. I don't even care if I go to jail!" The Andromedans refuse to comment. Also being held captive is the belowed Astrochicken, who is best known for starring in the hit"

[break off]

But yep, one of the Two Guys spinning on the floor is straight out of "The Three Stooges".

The pixels are square so it's more like EGA SCI, which makes the MT-32 music fitting. :P

Love the Death Star shot where the ship is being pulled in by the tractor beam. Except it's in that blue EGA palette. Makes me want an EGA Star Wars adventure! lol

Weird, MI - I just noticed that the first time we see the Death Star, it's grey. But when the tractor beam deploys, it's blue.

I find your lack of grey ... disturbing ... ;)

Check out his "Dovahbear" videos, too. If you've played Skyrim (and I presume most of you have by now), the "Dovahbear" series is very funny. :)

Shading and mood colouring in EGA is....quite an art. (no pun intended)

Never played Skyrim - but comments suggested the Dovahbear is seen in the background (behind the two guys) - I spotted it because people pointed out where it was. But not familiar with the whole idea.

Hmm. In Skyrim, your character is called the "Dovahkiin" (or Dragonborn). In the Dragon tongue, "Dovah" means "dragon race" - so you are kin to dragons. ;) Similarly, Dovahbear. :P

Bears are one of the most common animals you'll meet in Skyrim. This one is "Dovahbear" because he stole the Dovahkiin's helmet, and then went off and had his own adventures. ;)

Absolutely. And Douglas Herring was its master.

I love this. Definitely a labour of love. Pixel art and animation looks great, and some of these expressions are top-notch. My favourite bit is the One Guy on the right at 2:07 dodging lasers on the floor. That made me LOL too early in the morning.
