Trophy Rivers runs too fast
Trophy Rivers runs too fast
Trying to get Trophy Rivers running well. It installs fine (windows 7) but the game clock runs too fast as do the actual fishing and fish movements. Sounds and casting seem ok, but the strike, moving the boat, etc goes wayyyy too fast. Anyone have a fix for this? Tried XP compatibility but no change. I also tried running it on a VM of XP and same issue.

I am not familiar with the game myself; but I am assuming that it runs in a Windows environment, based off what you said - so it's probably looking at your CPU speed. Collector probably has a more intelligent answer, but I've heard of CPU Killer but have never used it and can't speak for it's validity.Videoman wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2019 7:11 pm Trying to get Trophy Rivers running well. slowdown utilities don't work on modern multi-core CPUs. While I think I have the game, I have never installed it. Not sure if there may be a compatibility shim that could be made to fix it or not. It would take time that I currently do not have.

Yes it is a windows game (although I did mention it installs fine to win 7). Originally designed to run on Win 3.1 and Win 95
Ok Collector, I just thought I would ask if anyone had any thoughts. I understand about time issues (all too well). I don't have a clue how or I would take a crack at it myself.
I did try lowering the CPU speed in a VM running XP and it helped but then the sounds were odd or slow. I will try tweaking a few other settings and see if I can get it better. Thanks.

Re: Trophy Rivers runs too fast
Try the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit.

Tried the Microsoft Application Comparability Toolkit but I guess I have no idea how to use it. Oh well thanks for the suggestion.
