Re: PAX WEST with some familiar faces!
Dave Gilmour? As in multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and former member of Pink Floyd????
Very fun. I joined at about the 3-hour-and-30-minutes mark and watched 'til the end (4-and-a-half hours) ... but hang on. This thing is 7.5 hours long - what happens in the last 3 hours of this thing?
I like Al's definition of an adventure game: "Sex and humour". And the final description: "It's a game where you go on an adventure."
Lori and Corey and Al are esteemed veterans. What did Al miss about the mid-90s? Making money?
Al: "Larry was the worst-selling game in the history of the company." Larry marketed itself. Al invented viral marketing.
Love the interaction between Al and Lori at 4:04.
Al mentions that the reviewers picked on him for it being too easy to die in Larry games, so in LSL5 it's impossible to die - and not one reviewer mentioned it. (Audience: Awwww.) Then Lori chimes in: "But dying in Larry was the best part!"
Don't miss Al's story about the spinach dip in LSL2 - 4:06. Why was the spinach dip that kills Larry in the game? It's worth it!
This was fun, Tawm. Thank you!

Re: PAX WEST with some familiar faces!
It was great! I have photos but I'll get them up later. I haven't had a proper sleep for the past 5 days literally. And last night my flight was delayed and I got home at 5am only to have to work at 8am. I'm going to be crashing this afternoon hard. But I do have lots of photos.
I didn't really talk much with Al, but I shook his hand and said hello and got a photo. Had a nice conversation with Josh Maendel. Got both of them to sign stuff. Said hello to Metal Jesus Rocks. Got to meet Troels in person finally for the first time (that man is TALL!). We had a blast reminiscing about the SQ fandom over the years that we were both a part of. Danny from GamerGrumps too! Said hello and talked about my Space Quest metal medley (which Troels introduced). And just everybody else was amazing and so much fun.
And yeah, Roberta called me out! Haha and first one too! She's an amazing person. One of the most affectionate and passionate people I've ever met. She gets stuff done and she loves everybody involved and put so much of herself into this weekend to make it a success to the literal point of exhaustion and it truly was a success. Just meeting her was an amazing part of the whole trip. But even the people I carpooled with from Vancouver to Seattle were so much fun to be around. It was truly a magical weekend all around on all counts and I can't believe it actually happened and that it's over already. It was that good.

Sounds like a great trip, MI! I'm happy for you that you got to meet so many fabulous people.
And no, I'm not jealous at all ... no, siree ... *sticks hands in pockets, whistles a random tune*
