[2019] Continue the story....

[*The Butler]

In this game, I'll start a story and every post will be a line continuing that story. Let's limit each line to 20 words or less. Here we go:

It was a dark and stormy night, when....

[* Interrobang]

...I entered the old, abandoned shoe machine factory. Deep within, I thought I could hear voices speaking.

[* Roland M. Tee]

Cautiously, I made my way towards the door leading to a hallway lined with private offices. Unexpectedly, I tripped on...

[* Khelgar Ironfist]

... a cat, which yowled and ran away. "Curses!" I cursed under my breath. "Foiled again - and by a white cat!"

[* Roland M. Tee]

With the cat out of my way, I peered into the dim hallway. Two voices emanated from a door on the left.

[*The Butler]

"We should bury them so no one can find them," one voice said.
The other voice spoke in hushed tones and said...

[* Interrobang]

"There's a place in the woods that's pretty remote. Help me get them in my car." One of the men opened the door...

[* Khelgar Ironfist]

... and put a sack in the car. There was a pathetic yelp from within the sack.

"Zounds!" Methought. "Those fiends shalt bury a dog - and 'tis still alive! Also, why am I thinking in Ye Olde Butchered English?"

[* Roland M. Tee]

Determined these two dastardly fiends wouldn't bury any live animals, I grabbed a Maglite from a side table and...

[* Khelgar Ironfist]

... turned it on. The two blackguards blinked in the light.

"Stop right there!" I shouted. A fork of lightning split the sky melodramatically (and conveniently).

[* Interrobang]

"Ow! Stop shining that light... wait... Brad? Is that you?" Another fork of lightning split the sky conveniently (and melodramatically).

[* Roland M. Tee]

"Frank?" I couldn't believe my eyes. "And Tony! What are you two up to!?"

[*The Butler]

"This stupid dog toy my aunt got for my sister won't turn off. We even took out the batteries."

Right then....

[* Interrobang]

... another man approached shining a flashlight at the three of us. "What's going on here?"

[* Khelgar Ironfist]

We squinted into the light. "Turn that damn thing off! What are you trying to do, blind us?"
