[2019] What I see - The Inventory Game!
The way this game works is, you describe what you currently see (or is in the room/area around you). So obviously you see a computer, a forum, a thread (let's not be too obvious here!) - but what else is in your immediate surroundings?
For example, there is a plant on my desk.
So I would put "a plant"
The next person replies with the type of plant they think it is (doesn't matter if they're right or wrong) but describes it like a Sierra game Inventory item - like, "You see a green, spiraling plant" and can be as serious or silly (so for example, if you wanted to give it a Space Quest theme, you might write, "You see a Borkadin plant from the planet Xenoth - be careful Roger, these things can eat people!") as they want, but then puts an item that is around them for the next person to write about.
Next person would guess the type of item they posted, and so on and so on.
It's similar to the two truths/lie thing. But this gives you an idea of what kind of stuff someone has around them. (Granted this may change, as they may reply on their mobile device, while sitting on a train)
Just thought it might be fun to do another game! Have at thee, if interested!
I will start with: a pen

It is a "floaty" pen where an object inside moves as you tip the pen. This one features a woman and a beach towel.

This baseball has been autographed by Biff Ruth, Babe and Bob's even lesser-known little brother. Biff gave up baseball as a child and devoted his life to pottery instead.

This waste-bin was busted when Al Capone and his gang riddled it with bullets during the Waste-bin Massacre of '28.

The milk bottle is covered in drops of dew, as if it's been sitting unrefrigerated for some time. A small skin seems to have collected at the top.

It's a typical iPhone... cracked screen and a battery life of 30 minutes since the last update.

This check book hasn't been used since the Reagan Administration. It is covered with cobwebs and dust.

The wristwatch is round with yellow glow-in-the-dark hands. It emits a rhythmic ticking.

The microphone emits "bzzzzzzt!" electric sounds. It is probably faulty.

Yet another "floaty" pen. This one is a little more tasteful and must have come from a Niagara Falls gift shop. It features the Maid of the Mist going back and forth.

The paper shredder is a luxury item and performs a task that most office workers can easily do for themselves, i.e. tearing up paper.

You know those pens with clear liquid in them that have little objects which slide back and forth when you tilt them?
It doesn't feel like cheap leather...it feels like cheap IMITATION leather!

The silver cigarette case is clearly an objet de luxe. It is carved with swirling Celtic decorations of flowering trees and twittering birds. It must have cost a fair price, too.

The leather carrying case is for carrying leather.
