The wooden coin can be used in a vending machine that only takes 5-cent coins. But another character warns you not to take any wooden nickles.

A child's chemistry set, complete with alembic, mortar and pestle.

The mortar and pestle is used to grind dried botanicals which are then added to some alcohol. This is distilled in the alembic to make a pretty decent gin.

The bottle of homemade gin has three purposes! First, remove the label and read the back - there's a map! The gin is used for fuel to light the torch! And the bottle is used to blow into the top and summon the ship in the undersea cave!

The picture of a dog is used to soak up the leftover gin to drink. This causes your hero to stumble around like an idiot, since obviously heroes have no tolerance for alcohol. Your hero then falls into a vat of grapes that the grape-treaders were about to crush with their bare feet.

The Vat of Grapes is used to make wine to replace the gin. They're beautiful and purple!

The mechanical pencil is used to write down the recipe for the wine. How neat and trim the pencil is!

You offer the wine recipe to a vintner who gives you tickets to a local rodeo in return.

You use the rodeo tickets to get into the rodeo and drug the leading bull. Then you bet on its opponent and win a lot of money.

The money is used to book passage on a steamship traveling East.

The key is used to open the porthole. But quick - seawater is pouring into your cabin! Shut that porthole before your cabin is drenched!
