KQ6 - Enhanced - On Vista - Possible?
Re: KQ6 - Enhanced - On Vista - Possible?
There is eBay, but the best hope is probably to wait for ScummVM, unless you want to setup a dual boot with Vista 32.

Sorry, just to add - I already have a build of scummvm that works with KQ6 - but its still the dos version without the hi-res portraits.

I have not tried Windows 7 32, but I would think that the Windows version should run on it. Just try the included SETUP.EXE.

You mean it still sounds like crap even when you setup the Win3x midi mapper to forward the channels to the Vista midi mapper like what I have in this screenshot? Muting the midi device in Vista silences the music like you'd expect, so unless the windows exe maps the channels differently it should be the same.Collector wrote:The DOS version of KQ6 in DOSBox already sounds great with general MIDI. It is the MIDI drivers for 3x that makes the music sound like crap in Win3x in DOSBox.
Edit: if you don't restore the original Win3x midimap.cfg the option is called "SB16 All MIDI" instead of General MIDI
