Phantasmagoria 2 on Vista 64 bit

Post by randyhargis »

I have downloaded the DOSBox installer and installed P2, but when I run the program it goes to black screen and says its loading. After a few seconds it looks like it is trying to switch to the game interface but shuts down with no error message. I have tried running as admin and not also tried compatability modes. Neither changed anything.

I am not the creator of the P2 installer, so I can't really say what might be going on with it. I can see if you might be having a DOSBox problem. You can edit the .conf file to remove the "exit" line in the autoexec section. This should stop DOSBox from closing so you can see any messages.

Thanks for that...DOSBox couldn't find the cd files so i am trying a work around. Any way to get DOSBox to mount a virtual drive (like daemon tools)?

I believe to mount a drive with DOSBox, you launch DOSBox then do...

MOUNT D: D:\

For example. And it will mount a virtual drive D: using whatever you have for Drive D or whatever letter you go with.

Look for imgmount in the DOSBox readme file.

you'd be better off using squirthecats windows installer rather than the DOSBox 1 in all honesty. it runs fine on x64 and you can run in high colour which looks better only problem is you need the cds in the drive
