I was over at Sierra Gamers, and I was reading an old topic about Eco Quest 2, and someone mentioned how the "Few talking lines for the bad guy's voice actor" were good, but there was never any talking in my version. Which part of the game was the speech supposed to be at?
Also, are the explosion and airplane at the beginning supposed to have sounds, maybe my drivers aren't configured right. this game is stubborn it seems lol what other Sierra sound FX might they be comparable to? So I know when the audio is correctly functioning....

I am not sure about any voice, as there was no Multi Media PC version, but there are sound effects. Try the EQ2 DOSBox installer. It will setup the sound hardware for the game.

Re: Voice Acting in Eco Quest 2?
BTW, Slaughter "voices" this place is a sewer! and Watch the suit!
I still find the occasional voice clips in the various games cool, I still remember the first time I played SQ4 disk, and when Vohaul talked through the laptop I was like "Beyond cool!" voices!!
Now it's so common place in games no one pays it much mind anymore....gaming as it is today owes it's existence to Sierra...ok, and LucasArts.

I think there are only a few lines voiced in Ecoquest 2. There's Slaughter's lines that SierraGamer mentioned, some of Forest Heart's lines, and a couple of lines in the outro. It's strange that there would be voice acting in only a tiny portion of the game.

It is probably like SQ5 and Robin. They had it in mind to do an MPC version, but those plans were scrapped as too costly.

Which is a real shame because it would have made Longbow even more epic than it was already. Just as long as they got Cary Elwes to voice Robin, simply because unlike some other Robin Hoods he can speak with an English accentCollector wrote:It is probably like SQ5 and Robin. A Space Quest 5 CD version would only work if they got Dan Castellaneta to voice Roger, which might be why it was "too costly" lol
