Phantasmagoria Windows XP

Post by KellyLori »

I’ve installed Phantasmagoria with the original installation by changing my screen setting to 640. I installed it on my Windows XP laptop. I’ve also added the recommended patch. However despite this the game only fills most of the screen not all of it. Does anyone know of any wAy I can stretch it to fill out the screen?

Phantasmagoria is a VESA game that has a 640x480 (4:3 aspect ratio) resolution. I assume that you have a more modern wide screen display and want to stretch it to fill the screen. This will unnaturally distort the image, but if you really want to do that you will need to check your laptop's display settings, perhaps in the BIOS. I doubt that you will be able to with the Windows version, but may work with the DOS version. Try the SHP installer and select full screen after you have the display set to stretch the image.

Full screen windows xp

Post by KellyLori »

I was able to Install Phantasmagoria on my Windows XP no problem but the game won’t run in full screen mode despite my lowering the laptop’s resolution and running the game in compatibility mode. Is there anything I can do to make it full screen or is this best I can get it?

It probably has more to do with the limitations of such an old laptop's display. Any solutions will most likely come from changing the settings of your display, possibly in the BIOS to stretch the display.
