hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobe (34) Someone afraid of.... LONG WORDS! And not hippopotami like I would have guessed.

This and "cyclopentanoperhydrophenanthrene" are both chemical names and so don't "mean" anything. Dichlorobenzyltributylphosphonium chloride is the chemical name for Phosfon which is a plant growth retardant which is why it probably showed up in a Google search (I had to look this one up). Cyclopentanoperhydrophenanthrene is the basic carbon skeleton for steroids (testosterone, estrogen, cholesterol, etc.). The thing with chemical names is that they can be almost unlimited in length depending on the size and complexity of the molecule, but usually include numbers, hyphens, commas, and parentheses.

Does anyone wish to try for a longer word? :)

Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia, by the way, is - ironically - the fear of long words. Hence the :P ...

Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobics (36) With any luck, we can move away from this word finally. :)

Strangely enough, the only other 36 letter word that I found is a different spelling for Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia: Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia. I cant' even begin to guess which is correct.

It is a lipid bilayer found in nerve tissue such as the brain, nerves and spinal cord. (Thank you, google). ;)

Aminoheptafluorocyclotetraphosphonitrile (40) - A very complex chemical compound, made up of amino (proteins), heptafluro (seven flourines), and CycloTetraPhosphonitrile (i.e. four cyclics - organisation of the atoms - of five phosphorous nitrites). ;)

Couldn't find 41 on Google, but if we are using chemical names I can tweak the one above to make it 41 letters:

Propylheptafluorocyclotetraphosphonitrile (41)

Which may or may not exist.

An amino group is an NH2 covalently bound to a molecule. The name is derived from ammonia (NH3).
