Hey guys,
I've been trying to get the ol' 1994 version of King's Quest VII on my laptop that has Windows Vista. I tried doing the DOSBox version1.5 I think...I'm kinda confused. It installed fine but whenever I try to run it, it starts to load and then flashes back to my desktop. I set the compatibility to Windows 95, and 256 bit color and that didn't work so I'm stumped. I miss playing this game. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

What is the version number of the game?

Re: 1994 King's Quest VII on Windows Vista
Ummmm...On the floppy disk it says it's version 1.1. You can play it on Windows 3.1 or higher. Is that right? I don't really know where to look.
Re: 1994 King's Quest VII on Windows Vista
Floppy? If so there is no installer for it. Find a copy of the 2006 King's Quest collection and apply the DOSBox patch.

Re: 1994 King's Quest VII on Windows Vista
It comes with a floppy disk and a CD. You can either use DOS or Windows 3.1 for it so I guess it was in between DOS and Windows days. So I do have a CD so that's a start.
Re: 1994 King's Quest VII on Windows Vista
What version is the CD?

Re: 1994 King's Quest VII on Windows Vista
I looked all over the CD and box and can't find anything about a version. Where would I look for it?
Re: 1994 King's Quest VII on Windows Vista
Look for a file on the CD named "version". Open it in Notepad. I only have installers for versions 1.4, 1.51 and 2. I can make a patch/installer for any version, but I need to have copies of the files from the version to be patched to do it.
