Seeing as I haven't played QfG3 in years -- decades, even -- I thought I might try my hand at it again. But first, I wanted to import my "hero" from QfG1 to 2, and from 2 to 3 (as per normal procedure).
I already have a bunch of saved QfG files, but alas, QfG3 kept on saying that my save-files aren't any good. So ... I had to start all over again.
Anyway, after many struggles, dealing with bugs and dead-ends, and so on, I finally (finally) beat QfG1: VGA with a straight thief (i.e. no magic allowed)! Woo-hoo!
After all that, I remembered that I have a savegame near the end of QfG2. So I thought ... "Screw it," beat QfG2 in about 2 minutes (:P), and exported my QfG2 hero to QfG3.
Damn, it feels good to play this game again. And this time, I can play it as any of the four classes (paladin, fighter, wizard or thief). Huzzah and hurnah (er, hurrah! Hurnah? Where did that come from? Must be because it's 12:53 am here, and I'm exhausted).
Anyway. Yay for minor gaming accomplishments!

Re: Huzzah!!
QfG3 must be easier than I remember. I just defeated it with a paladin.
Onward and upward! Time to beat it with a wizard and a rogue -- and then it's on to Mordavia!
Just wondering, by the way: is there any point to playing the game as a fighter? I mean, I've already beaten it as a paladin. Is there anything the fighter gets to do that the paladin doesn't?

According to CyricZ's excellent QFG3 FAQ (actually all of his QFG FAQs -- including QFG2VGA -- are excellent), the only points that are Fighter-specific are for killing the "monsters":Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 4:49 am QfG3 must be easier than I remember. Huh. Yesterday, while on my paladin playthrough, I killed all of these (except an ape-man, but including a demon -- i.e. inside the Lost City) and still got the points. So, yeah ... fighter points and paladin points are the same. It's just that a paladin has to play nice (i.e. help Harami the thief, help Yesufu, etc.)
