Are you the Bathing Costume/Swimming Costume/Speedos (whatever name is given to that tiny thing that Larry buys in the suit shop, and costs $100,000?)

(Just wondering: are there any suit shops like that in L.A.? Obviously Al is exaggerating the price tag, but... the only shop I've seen that's remotely comparable is Harrods, in London - and they're world-famous for selling luxury goods (or overpriced useless tat, depending on your POV).

Seriously, though: on my holiday in London, I went to Harrods, just to see what it was like, and maybe purchase a cashmere scarf - if I could afford it on my tourist budget!

I saw a suit there for £800, and out of curiosity, I asked what it was. They told me it was a "hunting suit", and that it cannot be washed or dry-cleaned. £800, or about $1,120 US. o_O

Clearly, this is a store that charges twice as much for everything...)

As for stores like that in Los Angeles, yes, very much so.
I mean, would you pay $70,000 US dollars for a purse? No? How about half that, something for $34,000 US Dollars, perhaps?

And those probably aren't even the most expensive type purses you could find. If my wife was awake she could probably educate us much better.

Ah, well ... Gucci ... and Madison Avenue Couture ... you're paying for the name (and to make other people jealous). Madison Avenue Couture, according to google, is:

Small shop featuring new & vintage luxury handbags from well-known designers, plus accessories.

Located in New York, NY. All right ... I work in health and I've kept in touch with one or two of my former CEOs. One is a female doctor, who educated me on this stuff (and shoes - oh dear, shoes). So Let's see:

The words "vintage" and "luxury" == "will cost a mint".
They say "well-known designers" but doesn't say which. So that means "if you don't know which ones we sell, you can't afford 'em."

(Please pardon my cynicism).

As for Gucci ... yes, quite an exclusive fashion house based in Florence, Italy. (So exclusive, Google Chrome won't even let me open their website! it tells me:

"Access Denied. You don't have permission to access "http://www.gucci.com/" on this server."

Well, fine. If Gucci's so snobby they won't even show me their goods, I don't wish to buy them.

By the way, I love this ... when I googled "gucci", one of the "google questions" is: "Why is gucci so expensive?"

The reply (from a website called "News Blare", apparently) is: "There are many factors such as manufacturing, designs, and marketing which makes GUCCI Costlier product in the world. Gucci is a top-class designer who obtains high-quality raw materials and uses high production methods. Gucci employs the talent of the top fashion designer in the world."

Well. Thanks for the advertisement, News Blare. Perhaps we can have the answer now?

Anyway, sorry for digressing so much -- but I hope I'm right (or close). I'd be curious to know Aimee thinks ... no hurry, obviously.

Granted - it's not one of the options seen in the full editor mode - but it's there. I've used it a lot on here.
