Fly with the Valkyries Odin.

Post by Tawmis »

At 3pm, Odin drifted to sleep for the final time, with Amiee and I at his side. He blessed us for 17 years; and he will always be here in our hearts. Fly with the Valkyries Odin - and find Abby, Emma, and all of those who now walk with you. We will always love you.

I'm terribly sorry to hear that, our honorary SHP pirate dog... We'll miss all the grand pictures you posted of him.

Condolences. The loss of a dear pet can be nearly as hard as the loss of a family member. 17 years seems an unusually long life for a larger dog. You were blessed to have him that long.

Sorry to hear that, Tawm! *sends Tawm and Aimee many, many hugs* My condolences. :(

Collector, 17 years is unusual but it can happen. I raised a golden labrador from a pup and he lived to be 17, so it's not unheard of.

I wanted to make a celebration of life video for my dog Odin, who blessed us for 17 years and recently just went to the Forever Sleep. We've taken him everywhere with us - beaches, vacations (Mammoth to Palm Springs and everything in between). I grabbed a smattering of photos from there, and some that made me laugh, cry and smile - I put it all into the editor - and it landed at just over an hour long.

There's going to be a second version - shorter than this - that I time lapsed - that is 15 minutes long. I'll post that after this one uploads.

Odin – 03/22/2004 to 04/09/2021.

Long version (just over 1 hour) -

Sped up (16 minute version) -

I'm so sorry for that loss; I know it's rough.

I made another video - this one, I took the videos (most of them) that I have of Odin - and overlaid it on the photo montage...

But had to extend it - ended up being 3 hours and 50 minutes.

I don't expect anyone to watch it - it's more for me - to just go back and see Odin again.

I muted the audio in this one, because the sound of his barking makes me miss him too much.

I know it's hard. *hugs* Odin looks like a real sweetheart. He was lucky to have you to protect him for so many years.

Today marks the anniversary we said goodbye to Odin.
While we're going to a friend's house to hang out for lunch, my heart is a little sad.

Have an amazing Easter, for those who celebrate, and if you don't; may your day be equally incredible.
