Silent Thunder: A-10 Tank Killer II on windows 10.
I managed to install Silent Thunder: A-10 Tank Killer II on my windows 10 64 bit PC.
I encountered 3 problems. Two minor ones that are nothing but a detail, and one major that makes the game unplayable.
I had a problem with the game not finding the A10SHELL.exe yes but after some digging I managed to find it.
Now for the two issues:
1- The game seems to be unable to activate full screen mode.
I do not know why, but every time I start a game, the screen goes black, as if the game was trying to go on full screen mode. But for some reason, it fails and it reverts back to windowed mode.
Can that be fixed?
2- I cannot access the last missions of the campaigns on the "Fly one mission" section of the game.
For some reason, the last missions on all of the 3 campaigns are missing on the "Fly one mission" section of the game.
Those missions would be:
"Chemical Convoy" From the Colombia campaign.
"Tyrant's End From the Gulf campaign.
"Under Arrest" From the Korea campaign.
I managed to kind of temporarily fix this by editing the GLOBAL.reg file and switching the missions order with the previous mission. Thou I have to revert it back once I finish the campaign.
This is kind of annoying. Is there a way to make a permanent solution?
3- The game is running Waaaaaaaaayyyyy to fast.
This is the most urgent and serious issue. It make the game pretty much unplayable.
The game simply goes to fast. And when i say fast, I mean REALLY FAST.
Right now, its impossible to play the game, no matter how much I try.
Please tell me, is there any way to fix this?
Here is my diagnostic_log:

Thank you.

Another problem that I encounter but I forgot to report is that for some reason, I cannot access the "Vehicle Preview" option of the game.
When I try, the game crashes and this error message pops out:

Any Idea how to fix it?

Just going to ask - this is a legit copy and not a cracked copy?

Had to ask - because the number of unusual errors (commonly found when a game's executables are hacked).
I, myself, only have the first A-10 Tank Killer (don't think I even have it installed however).
Bummer that it's a Windows game. Have you already tried, right clicking and telling it to run as different versions of Windows?
Also did some digging - which led to this:
https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?p=79441#p79441
Which led here:
http://ayumi_chan15.tripod.com/soft/lsl7setup.html
With a download here -
http://ayumi_chan15.tripod.com/soft/lsl7setup_install.zip
Which states:
Leisure Suit Larry 7: Love for Sail - Setup Fix
LSL7Setup v. 1.0
This is a small program that fix the setup program in WinXP for Leisure Suit Larry 7: Love for Sail.
There is a bug in the setup program when you run it with Windows XP. You hear the music, but you can't see the window. So with this, you'll be able to install the game in Windows XP.
In theory, this application could work with anything else, but it was design for LSL7 Stand Alone version with setup v. 3.0.3.0 . (Not the Ultimate Pleasure Pack)
I also tried it with:
- Gabriel Knight 2 (Sierra Originals)
- Torin's Passage
You can use this program to show any hidden window in Windows.
Here is the file, including the source code in MS Visual C++ 6.

Re: Silent Thunder: A-10 Tank Killer II on windows 10.
I'm ruining the game with the "Windows XP Service Pack 3" compatibility mode and the "8-bit 256 color" options turned on.
This fixes most of the problems but the ones I mentioned still remain.
But I'm confused. how am I supposed to use the LSL7 program you found?
Do I use it in the "A-10_2Setup" program?

Collector may have more information on that - he's the one (ironically), who'd posted it on that forum.Guibaesa wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 12:36 am I'm ruining the game with the "Windows XP Service Pack 3" compatibility mode and the "8-bit 256 color" options turned on.

While Collector does run this site (and forum) - he's pretty busy with real life (who isn't these days?) - so he pops in here when he can.
I, myself don't own A-10 Tank Killer II, so I can't even install and try to replicate the issue, unfortunately.

I'd imagine - those familiar with the game, and on this forum - will jump in if they're familiar with A-10 Tank Killer II.
Just googling around - saw on Amazon, a lot of people reporting the same speed issues you'd mentioned:
link to A10TKII on Amazon.
