So I've been playing through Police Quest II for the first time.
And I seem to have found a problem. (had a quick look on the Sierra Help page for the game but didn't see anything like this)
I'm at the very end of the game.
I have calmed Marie and Bains is about to walk in.
I hide on the side of the screen so I have a chance to shoot first but when I do, I get the dreaded "Click".
I try to reload my gun but it says I don't have any ammo. Except I do. It says so in my inventory. I took the spare ammo out of my locker at the beginning of day 2 and haven't reloaded since. And it says "Extra Ammo" as an item in my inventory.
I'm playing in Scumm VM. Not sure if that impacts it.
Has anyone else encountered a problem like this?
At this stage, I'm tempted to just watch the ending of the game on YouTube .

I have not heard of this. If ScummVM perhaps report it to them?

Upload your save games and the .DIR file that goes with it - and I will install PQ2 and give it a whirl.

Except he is using SVM.

Re: Police Quest II Ammo Bug
Does the most recent version of GOG use SVM?
Regardless, I have PQ series in GoG - and if it's using DOSBox - it gives me all the files to run it.
So I could use SVM, right - rather than DOSBox to run it? Just point SVM to open it.
OH!
Wait.
I see. Save games. Won't have the .DIR file.

And won't work in anything other than SVM. Too bad that there is not a SVM-to-native save file converter.

Re: Police Quest II Ammo Bug
Wouldn't I be able to use SVM, to open the game, if I run my game via SVM?

Yes, but if it is a bug created by SVM you would not be able to get past it, too.

Re: Police Quest II Ammo Bug
I am mostly curious - because I'd never seen/heard of that bug. So I wanted to fiddle around.
