It's review time at work so I need a break from that. So grabbed some screen shots and made these.

Nice going. :) I've seen pictures of LoG on GoG (hey, that rhymes! ;)) and it didn't really grab me. It looked a bit like Eye of the Beholder, just with better graphics.

It's the same idea. Dungeon crawl, first person perspective, four members.

But where it differs is that there's ... puzzles also... you need to solve.

LoG2 puts you on an island (that has dungeons in it) - so it's not all just inside a dungeon.

Although, I would say WIZARDY is what all of those games are like. I believe (not 100% sure) Wizardry was one of the first to do party-dungeon crawl with graphics.

There's also a custom map creator.

I have LoG1 but haven't played very much of it. Got it in an old Humble Bundle I think...or something. LoG2 looked cool with its multiple locales and outdoor areas. But I decided not to pursue it until I played through LoG1 and I just never have yet. Wasn't always my favourite game style anyway. But I liked how it was all modern looking while replicating old style game mechanics and controls. Maybe one of these days when I get into a dungeon crawler mood I'll play through it.

They're very fun games - but YES, you do have to be in the mood for them.

For example, I can just jump into any old Sierra game and play - no matter my mood.

But I need to be in the mood to play LoG/LoG2. One thing I always forget - when you get in combat - you can move around. You don't have to stay there. So you can back up, move side to side, as long as the space isn't occupied.

There is ONE speed test in LoG1 that I strongly dislike. And it's pretty early on. A millisecond off and you will miss it. But you can keep trying. Over and over.

And there's a few... throw it just right in LOG2 for the puzzles... and some pretty crazy puzzles in LoG2. One, I spent seriously hours on. I asked my wife if she thought she could figure it out. Five minutes later she had solved it.
