The teddy bear was the clue for the room (losing the head), but it's not what I am.

I am not, so here's the clue - which since it's narrowed down to the specific room and a few items have been guessed... will probably give it away.

I hold, that which has been kissed
Lingering there, below the unusual mist.
Keep them safe and warm
But in this house, nothing is fits the norm.

Is it the baby bassinet/crib (below the weird floaty cloud formation)? ;)

Never played this game, but I found a short YouTube video that shows this room. As I've said before: you can find almost anything on the interwebz. (I once found a youTube video of a TV show from my childhood).

See. And you said you wouldn't be able to play because it was Phantasmagoria!

It is indeed the baby bassinet/crib!

This room is perhaps the most memoriable to me - at the time when I first played this, I'd just moved back to San Diego and the wife and I had moved in with my friend Chuck (who I've known since the 4th grade) and his wife - until we found our own place. Phantasmagoria had just come out - and my friend Chuck had a computer that could play it. So it was he and I playing, and then the wives played too - and we'd catch up to one another from time to time - and one of those times we'd caught up - we were all in the bedroom playing when we walked her up to the nursery - and the crib rocked and there was a baby crying - and it freaked us all out because we didn't expect it.

So yes, it's your turn.

That is freaky. But yes, now that I've seen a video of this game, the FMV portion of it looks annoying (for instance, you can either open a drawer and look at cigarettes or close the drawer, but not take the cigarettes. What?) :|

Anyway ... aha! I thought of something. Guess away! :)

Well, because Phantasmagoria isn't like your standard adventure game to pick up everything to be used.

So...

For you.

You know my first question right?

Are you in a Quest for Glory game? :D

I'm going to assume that it's in QFG, but even if it is not:

Are you in an evenly numbered game in whatever series you happen to be in?

OK. Going with something different, I see! :D

Are you a game with "Quest" somewhere in the title (Police Quest, Conquest of Longbow, Colonel's Bequest, etc).
