Laura Bow - The Dagger of Amon Ra Playthrough

Going to start Laura Bow - Dagger of Amon Ra.
For my own sake - I took my scans of the manual I did and made a quick PDF of just the Egyptian Gods, which I think (can't remember) is the only "copyright" protection.
I should see about recreating the LB2 PDF I see on the site.
But in case anyone else wants just the Egyptian Gods portion - I will attach it to this post.

Yes, all the dialogue related to the copy protection goes unused in the CD release, although it was recorded and still exists in the resource files.

The CD release also modified the character portraits for Laura (fixing her off-centre mouth), Ziggy (changing his background colour and giving him a creepy eye twitch), and Steve (removing the bow-tie and hair curl, probably so the same portrait would make more sense during the dock scenes when he wasn’t in his tux). The lip-synch animations were also improved upon.

I will probably still use the DISK version I had just so it has all this extra crap in it, for my playthrough.

The GOG download is 271 MB. The floppy version installed around 7.37 MB. The CD version installed with its RESOURCE.AUD is around 346 MB. The GOG's is probably the CD version. Perhaps some heavy ass compression and/or ripped. It is only $5.99. If you get it would you run the file lister program and post the installed contents?

Yes, the GOG release is the CD version. Usually, GOG only issues the CD releases of games which also came on floppy disk. As far as I can tell, it’s contents are identical to the physical CD except set up to run through ScummVM.

The voice acting is a hoot and adds a lot to the experience. Considering it was mostly done by Sierra staffers, they did a very good job, especially compared to KQ5 (though still heavily compressed, the quality is much better).

Hmm, my floppy version does have the sung Archaeologist song, but only if digitised sound effects are enabled. Otherwise you hear the instrumental rendition. Maybe it wasn’t included in all version numbers?

Oh, I have it on GoG. I've purchased all the Sierra games they released.

I just did DIR commands and pasted it code.

All right - thankfully, even though the GoG version uses SCUMMVM for the game - the required files are still there.

So I was able to configure it and set it up through DOSBox instead.

So yeah - I will use this since it has speaking parts. That's more interesting than the copyright fluff.
