QUEST FOR GLORY: TORO’S ADVENTURE, PART 3

After retrieving the Sword of Truth from the Cave of Cheetahs, Toro traveled to the Cave of Cheaters where he meets… his mom?!

“Toro?” the female minotaur said GINGERLY. “Is it really you? I thought I lost you when our caravan was attacked by brigands.”

“Mom,” Toro said as they hugged.

“Ahem,” said the sword. “As touching as this is, you do have a monster to slay, Big Guy.”

“Quiet!” Toro JUMPED. “Toro have moment with Mom. And why Sword clear throat? Sword not have throat!”

“The Sword of Truth is right,” Toro’s mom said LUCKILY. “I have a QUICK potion made from the fur of a CHEETAH, the blood of a GOBLIN and some OREGANO for flavor. It can be used to destroy the One-Eyed Snake Monster. The creature can be found…”

“Let Toro guess: in a cave?”

Toro hugged his mom once more and journeyed to the Cave of BLUE HUSKIES. Toro LOUDLY entered the cave. “And three… two…” said the sword.

“Why sword count---- OW!” Toro said as he tripped on a PUNK.

“I knew you’d do that!”

Unfortunately, the Snake Monster was alerted to Toro’s presence. The AQUAMARINE creature SAT DOWN VERY QUIETLY GINGERLY. Toro managed to dodge the first strike, but found himself wrapped in the coils of the STEAMING creature. With a free hand, he tossed the potion into the creature’s mouth. The creature choked and gagged and then fell silent. The One-Eyed Snake Monster would trouble the cheetahs no more.

Toro left the cave with a sense of pride and accomplishment. “Good job," the sword said. "You are much more fun than Destiny Boy. We still need to work on your pronouns.” Toro took the Sword of Truth and heaved it with all his might. “I knew you’d do thaaaaat!”

Toro went back to find his mom and then returned to the cheetahs to tell them that their foe has been vanquished. They named him GRAND POOBAH, DUKE OF EARTH, COUNT OF MARS, KING OF THE MILKY WAY AND MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE and gave him a ceremonial CORGI as a reward.

Toro arrived at the meeting spot just in time to find Elsa. “Elsa. Toro find magic sword and kill big snake monster. Oh, this Toro’s mom.”

Elsa sighed. “Maybe you should start from the beginning.”

Toro has a pet Corgi now. It's canon.

I love it when things read "naturally" (e.g. "some OREGANO for flavour"). And Toro has a pet Corgi!

TORO'S PASSAGE

Toro emerged from the tunnel in Spielburg, blinking in the light. So this was the big city! How neat!

He went to the bar, ordered a [ALCOHOLIC DRINK], and downed it without any trouble. That should persuade those pesky humans not to mess with Toro!

"So whatcha doin' here, big guy?" The barman said as he [ADVERB] mopped a glass. (Barmen always mop glasses. It's the kind of thing that always happens, even if the bar is on [PLANET} and the barman has [BIG NUMBER] tentacles instead of hands).

Toro shrugged. "Toro dunno. Make things better between minotaurs and hoo-mans, maybe?"

"That's lucky," the barman said. "The Baron decreed that we should compete in sports with the rest of Gloriana. So we need a sports team. Any ideas?"

Toro [VERB]ed. "Dunno. What you good at?"

"Basketball is very popular."

"You throw ball in basket? Why?"

The barman's eyes flickered this way and that. "Because ... it's fun?"

"Fun," Toro said hollowly. "What is fun? I just drank an [ALCOHOLIC DRINK]. Is that fun?"

"Sure."

"Good!" Toro banged his fist on the bar. "Toro start team! It called ... um ... well, I'm part-bull. So it called ... The Spielburg Bulls."
